Seeing Tokyo Skytree is one thing but flying around it in a two-passenger private plane is a whole other type of experience.
Owned by Tobu Railway, this Neo futuristic inspired architecture is the primary tv and radio broadcasting site for the Kanto Region. The tower has seismic proofing making it a strong hold against earthquakes. The exterior lattice is painted a bluish-white which is a traditional Japanese color called aijiro.
It has a height of 634m (2,080 ft) The figures 6 (mu) 3 (sa) 4 (shi) stands for Musashi; an old name for the region where the Tokyo Skytree stands. With all that in mind, flying over Sumida City was a brilliant affair in itself. The views of a transitioning plane from rural to urban was marveling; as a subtle appreciation for agriculture filles your heart whilst a steadily creeping of wonderment takes over for how compact and Lego-like buildings could be condensed in an overwhelming vastness.
